Pictures: Entertainment Center Rebuild - Materials Cheap for Custom Home & Spotty Workmanship
Sean Thompson informed my husband and I that he could rebuild our entertainment/bookcase to match the one on the other side of our fireplace. We got excited as we would soon have two places to display all our pictures and memorabilia, but little did we know that the unit would have to be redone as the materials used were cheap, stain didn't match and there were/are gaps between shelves and the backerboard. Until you get close to the actual unit, you'd think it was sound but the more you check out the unit the less satisfied you are with it for it shows poor carpentry, missing stain, poor sanding and poly left on surface and other surfaces no poly at all. Instead of admitting he hasn't done something like this, he took it on causing my husband much distress for the stain used was too dark (never thought to match stains), measurements were off, and the flimsiness of the shelves and backboard. Now my husband has to interview other general contractors who specialize in this arena. Truthfully, one major tremor and it's toast!
